new “my favorite things” cards

Squeal! I guess you could say I’m pretty excited. I’m guest designing for such a sweet online stamp store: My Favorite Things Stamps. I mean, come on. Even the name of the store is adorable! Not to mention they have such an amazing assortment of stamps (tons of talented designers), gorgeous cardstock (that also has matching buttons, felt, ink pads, ribbon, etc), and amazing steel dies called “Die-namics”. Cute name, right?

I’m going to be playing along several times in the next couple of weeks and today is:

TeaserTime_FullSizeI know, what a tease, right? You definitely have to tune into the My Favorite Things Blog for all seven days of the Teaser posts. It’s so fun to see new things popping up every day, not to mention you could win a $75.00 prize! Dude. That is awesome.

So, My Favorite Things sent a lovely box of stamps and dies for me to design with; imagine my surprise to find a set hand drawn by their newest illustrator, Suzy Plantamura! Suzy is my scrapping buddy from way back and I couldn’t be happier for her. Her Celebrate Life set is so fun and full of life (just like Suzy herself). I colored the stamped image and die cut it with the new Pierced Rectangle Stax Die-namics (click HERE for a video of these). The cute pierced edge doesn’t show up super well in my photo, but check  out the top edge to see how dainty the piercing looks. I can’t wait to try this on a darker cardstock.

The second card I made features the Die-namic that is debuting today: Mini Chicken Wire. Eeek. I die. I’ve had a love affair with chicken wire for about six months now and was super excited to try out this die. It cut just beautifully! I wanted to use it on a “non-stampy” card to show how versatile the Die-namics are; um, even if you are not a Stampy McStamperson. Hee, hee.

How delightful to work with such fun product. Check back soon – I will posting on Tuesday for the New Product Tour. I am sure the tour will be amazing!
